Qualifications, Skills and Competencies Required:
- Relevant Degree
- 5-7 Years sales experience in relevant field
- Proven marketing and sales competencies and ability to analyse markets and set strategies
- Ability to establish new markets by tapping into your existing network
- Ability to manage budgets as well as meeting set KPI’s
- Ability to work both independently as well as within a team
- Ability to travel
PURPOSE:
To co-ordinate and develop a calculated sales and marketing plan in promoting your portfolio category throughout your prescribed areas of responsibility, namely RSA as well as defined Southern Africa. The ultimate measureable being the sustainable increase in sale of products within the ACDC Dynamics stable derived particularly from Switchgear Portfolio. Furthermore, to be locally, nationally as well as internationally responsible for the category from a procurement, logistical and certifications aspect of your category whilst at the same time interacting with all stakeholders on both ends of the spectrum. Feeding back all suggestions for improvement and market research to senior staff.
Typical Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and sustaining strong working relationship with all stakeholders
- Creating an enduring category message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share
- Championing the category internally, making sure all elements of the company understand the category and its goals
- Realistic forecasting of sales and volume for the category ensuring all departments of the company are feared accordingly by means of timeous notifications
- See out new marketing opportunities that fit with the category and maximising all opportunities for growth
- If applicable, reporting monthly sales results to the sales team
- Supporting the sales force with general operations to help reach the team’s objectives
- Dealing with and responding to high volumes of emails
- Taking phone calls from customers -Managing several assigned accounts and often being the face of the company to many clients
- Achieving high sales targets and goals thus meeting and exceed monthly as well as quarterly sales targets
- Building new business relationships
- Giving sales presentations to high-level executives
- Understanding the marketplace and customer needs in order to advise in product development
- Managing all aspects of the category through the supply chain both tangible and intangible
- Specification of specific products within the category ranges by means of leveraging relationships with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, developers, specifies, electrical consultants as well as contractors.
- Geographical management of prescribed area of responsibility
- Providing your client with customer focused insights regarding the product and category
- If applicable, supervision of the respective category team members as well as other supporting staff
- Becoming a leader in category ranging, pricing and promotions across customer channels
- Managing a large portfolio of products within your prescribed category as well as developing appropriate strategies for such
- Managing marketing aspects of the category, encompassing but not limited to SFC’s main catalogue, promotions and specials
- Assisting in category presentations or exhibitions as and when required
- Creating a sustainable “category plan” which encompasses a category strategy and ensuring all aspects of the product or company’s marketing and activities align with the ethos and goals of the category prescribed by both the external category supplier as well as ACDC Dynamics
- Analysing the category and current strategy and highlighting areas of weakness or conflicting messages to both the National Sales Manager as well as the Managing Director as and when required
- Sourcing suppliers and products that fit with the context of the category
- Presenting the category plan to your National Sales Manager, Managing Director, Category Principle as well as Sales and marketing teams at international meetings and conferences.
- Feeding back all suggestions for improvement and market research to senior staff
- Working closely with all parts of the company to ensure commercial goals of the category are met
- Developing high quality and effective marketing materials that align correctly with the overall strategy of the category
- Working closely with the Sales and Marketing departments to develop the sales and marketing strategy
- Playing a key part in buying, sourcing and manufacturing of category products and ensuring all aspects of the supply chain align with such
- Ensuring your passport remains valid at all times
- Short notice national and international travel as and when required
- To further assist as and when required
