Junior Category Specialist - Solar
Purpose :
A leading South African manufacturer, importer and distributor of quality products in the electrical, electronics, pumps and tools industries is seeking an experienced Junior Solar Specialist to join their organisation, who will be responsible for implementing and developing sales and marketing plan in promoting your portfolio category throughout their prescribed areas of responsibility, namely Southern Africa in accordance with the development plan as set out by either the company or the category manager and ultimately by sustaining the increase in sales of products within the organisation’s stable derived particularly from Solar Products.
Typical job functions include, but are not limited to :
- Analyse the marketplace, and design a market strategy based on their product range together with their respective brand manager
- Search for and capitalise on new product opportunities
- Ensure Brand Positioning and Branding for the respective product range in client stores or franchises
- Manage new product projects from start to end which may include the assisting in designing and mapping of systems relative to the brand
- Develop product launch programs as well as formulation of customer days or product awareness campaigns together with their respective brand manager
- Liaise with upper management ensuring sales targets are met
- Analyse current marketplace and feeding back important market and competitive information to your respective brand manager
- Train in house and external sales teams on sales techniques, administration and products as and when required
- Execute and manage sales strategies
- Generate new leads and developing existing customers
- Respond to customer enquiries
- Manage several assigned accounts and often being the face of the company to many client
- Achieve high sales targets and goals
- Conduct sales presentations to high-level executives
- Manage employer’s client relationships and providing clients with excellent service and support
- Provide feedback all suggestions for improvement and market research to respective brand manager
- Process a high volume of product orders
- Take phone calls from customers
- Communicate internally important feedback from customers
- Deal with and respond to high volumes of emails
- As and when required, assist in as well as liaising with any business partner with respects to any exhibition of any type with reference to the various division of the organisation
- Avail one’s self for events to assist in ensure the smooth running operations
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies Required :
- 3 Years sales experience in the general electrical field dealing particularly with Solar ‘Boxed’ kits, Solar Street Lighting, PV Modules, Inverters, Grid Tied and Hybrid systems
- Ability of dealing with Architects, Specifiers, Developers as well as previous experience in tendering and estimating
- Ability to establish new markets by tapping into your own existing network
- Ability to manage budgets as well as meeting set KPI’s
- Relevant B Degree / B Tech advantageous
