Exciting opportunity to work at ACDC Dynamics, a leading manufacturer, importer and distributor of quality products in the electrical, electronics, pumps, and tools industry is looking for an experienced and Dynamic Local/ International Buyer.

We are looking for a highly-skilled Buyer with strong industry knowledge of Electrical and Electronic products, who has the ability to forecast market trends. This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Research, select and purchase quality products and materials. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.  Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.

Procurement clerks, also known as purchasing assistants or departmental buyers, take purchase requests from various departments within a company and get price quotes from suppliers. Additionally, their responsibilities include contacting suppliers to schedule deliveries or to discuss shortages or missed deliveries

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
  2. Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
  3. Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
  4. Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
  5. Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
  6. Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
  7. Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
  8. Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies
  9. Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance
  10. Stay in constant touch and reply to phone calls and emails promptly
  11. Develop sourcing strategies
  12. Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
  13. Maintain contracts with vendors
  14. Review inventory and update as required
  15. Receive orders from various departments
  16. Initiate and keep track of orders
  17. Receive, inspect and distribute orders
  18. Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies.
  19. Monitor delivery times to ensure timeous deliveries
  20. Coordinate annual overseas orders.
  21. Keep daily records -Accounts to be submitted for payment to vendors on time
  22. Make or purchase policy analysis and recommendations
  23. Lease or purchase policy evaluation and recommendation

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Solid knowledge in Import & Export essential.
  2. Two (2) years previous experience as procurement officer or related position
  3. Knowledge of procurement processes, policies and procedures
  4. Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
  5. Matric Certificate with Maths and Accounting as subjects
  6. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred
  7. Strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  8. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines
  9. Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
  10. Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  11. Ability to analyze problems and strategize for innovative solutions
  12. Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
  13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  14. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
